This was followed by the presentation of Wolfgang Barkemeyer and his solo circumnavigation in a Najad 460. The presentation revealed Wolfgangs profession as an engineer and interest how of a well detailed planned sailing, makes it to a pleasure, secure and safe. Still there we got many glimpses of many remote, exciting and romantic resorts and also direct reports of the log book out in the Ocean, with land sights weeks away. Najad owners in Germany by Dines Pontoppidan

The meeting was summed up by Najad's agent in Germany, Dines Pontoppidan. Dines also used the opportunity to launch the idea of a Najad owners association also in Germany. 

As there are many other Najad clubs in other countries in Europe, but none in Germany, there must be an interest for it, as there is a very high Najad density, probably the 2nd highest in the world. 

The idea was discussed, but nothing settled. So now, as a second step, it is up to each German Najad owner to report to Dines Pontoppidan and his Diamond Yachts in Kiel, to line up for a membership.

Erstes Deutsches NAJAD-Eignertreffen auf der boot 2011 in Düsseldorf

Trotz des etwas kurzfristig angesetzten Termins am Montagnachmittag kamen ca. 40 NAJAD-Segler der Einladung zum ersten Eignertreffen auf der boot in Düsseldorf nach. Nach Begrüßung und Umtrunk begann das Meeting mit einer Präsentation des CEO Mikael Gustavsson. Der neue Werftchef stellte sich vor und gab einen Abriss der letzten sechs Monate bei NAJAD und berichtete, wie die Führung nach einer intensiven Bestandsaufnahme die Traditionswerft für die Zukunft ausrichten will und in welche Richtung sich das NAJAD-Portfolio entwickeln wird.

Es folgte ein Reisebericht von Wolfgang Barkemeyer, der mit seiner NAJAD 460 „Baros“ einhand die Welt umsegelt hat. Neben eindrucksvollen Bildern exotischer, romantischer Stationen seiner Reise enthielt der Vortrag auch Auszüge des Logbuchs und detaillierte Informationen zur technischen Ausrüstung der Yacht und zur sorgfältigen Vorbereitung der Tour. Zum Schluß folgte die Vorstellung einer NAJAD Eignervereinigung in Deutschland. Dines Pontoppidan von DIAMOND Yachts stellte die Idee vor und wies darauf hin, daß solche NAJAD-Clubs bereits in einigen Nordeurpäischen Ländern existieren. Bei der großen „NAJAD-Dichte“ in Deutschland dürfte es Bedarf dafür geben. Die NAJAD-Deutschlandvertretung wird als ersten Schritt einen solchen Verein gründen, sich schriftlich bei allen Eignern melden und ein Beitrittsformular zusenden.
